Description:
Introduction to Powerlifting teaches students at or above the beginner’s levels about the sport of Powerlifting, a sport that focuses on three main movements: the squat, the bench press, and the deadlift (SBD). Students will learn about the biomechanical breakdown of the squat, the bench press, and the deadlift while also learning about proper lifting technique, the importance of bracing, differences and use of equipment, and lastly how to write their own powerlifting program. There will be an emphasis on evaluating and refining each of the main lifts. Students will participate in various workouts and will incorporate the squat, bench press, and deadlift.
