Immunology of Domestic Animals
DMP 850 - Class Number: 14922
Description:
This course is designed to introduce graduate students to the immune system. The course will emphasize the immune systems of domestic animals, because these can differ in important ways from the immune systems of humans and rodents. The goals of the course are to: 1) provide students with the basic information necessary to understand the immune system and its functions in health and disease; 2) provide students with a knowledge of the tools and techniques available for studying the immune system in domestic animal species; 3) increase the student’s ability to comprehend, present and critique the primary literature in a faculty guided setting. Students will be expected to actively participate in discussions concerning current topics in immunology.
