Computer And Information Security

CIS 751 - Class Number: 14295

Description:

A comprehensive coverage of computer and information security. Basic cryptography, access control, authentication, authorization, network security, software security, and social aspects of security. The lectures discuss when and where things can go wrong and how design flaws in a system can be exploited to compromise security. Common attack techniques are introduced, and students have the opportunity to work on course projects that cover both the defense and offense aspects in cyber space.

  • Not available for credit to students with credit in CIS 551, Intro to Computer and Information Security.

Permissions:

  • Instructor George Amariucai's permission is required after 08/28/2023.

Student Requirements:

  • Internet access
  • Students may enroll in CIS courses only if they have earned a grade of C or better for each prerequisite to those courses.

Prerequisites:

  • CIS 450 Computer Architecture and Operations; or 520 Operating Systems I
